Schedule of Classes –May thru August 2008

Note:  Material and equipment cost are included in class fee.

 

Adult Classes-

5/20-6/10          $100     Basic Hairpin Lace

7-9pm                          Learn this fun form of crochet. Create strips that are joined

4weeks                        together to create a lovely lace.  No experience req’d. 

                                    but basic crochet skills are helpful.

 

5/23-6/13            $100   Explore Fiber Dyes

10am-12:00                  We will play with

4 weeks                       various types of fabric and yarn dying.  Including natural

                                    and fiber reactive dyes, tie-dye and resists.

 

6/7-6/21               $80   Felt Explorations        

10 am-12:00                 Try your hand at felting wool roving into fabric

OR                               and sculptures. Wet  and needle felting techniques                    

8/12-8/26                       will be covered in this class.

7-9pm                          

3 weeks                       

 

6/17-6/24             $50    HardangerEmbroidery

7-9pm                          Learn this fun and beautiful technique for creating

2 weeks                        openwork embroidery.  If you can count to 5

                                    you can do this.

 

 6/19-6/26             $50    Needle Felting            

10am-12:00                  Create pattern on fabric and free standing fiber sculptures

2 weeks                        using the barbed needle felting tool. A relaxing

                                    and stress relieving activity!

 

7/7-7/14              $50    Stamp & Screen         

10am-12:00                  Carve stamps and create

2 weeks                       silk screens stencils to print your own designs on fabric.

 

All Ages Classes –

Note: These classes are designed to take as a team (parent/child, friends, sisters,)

Second person gets ½ off price.  Can be taken by an individual if desired.

 

7/8-7/22         $60/        Beginning Crochet

7-8:30pm        $30        Learn the basics of crochet

3 weeks                       from chain to single and double crochet. Ages 7 & up

 

7/12-7/19         $60/      Learn to Knit!

12:00-2pm       $30         Learn the basics of knitting from cast-on

2 weeks                         to garter stitch.  Ages 7 & up.

 

8/21-8/28         $60/      Natural Fiber Dying

7-8:30 pm        $30        Part Chemistry part art! We will experiment

2 weeks                        using things like beets, onions,arrot tops and

                                    copper pennies to dye yarn and fabric.  Ages 7 & up.

 

Kid’s Classes-

7/10-7/24       $75         (Not So Ugly) Doll

4-5:30pm                      Design, Sew and embellish

3 weeks                       your own stuffed doll!  Name it and give it a home too!  Ages 8 & up.

 

7/11-7/18        $60        Doll Clothes Design

12-2pm                        Create a dress only your

2 weeks                       18” doll will own!  Samantha’s & Molly’s can come along too!  Ages 8 & up.

 

8/9-8/16        $60          Dying to Weave

10am-12:00                  Dye your yarn during the first

2 weeks                       class.  Then create a weaving during week two!  6 & up.
